wow. yup. as they say - "that year just flew by". it really does seem just like yesterday that I sat down one afternoon at my computer and thought to myself - "hummm ... these blog things are kinda fun- I think I should have one" ... and so I did. It was last April - and all the blogs I was seeing were full of bright colors and springy details - it was so nice - and I wanted IN. I spent about 3 hours that first day... bouncing from blog to blog, discovering kindred spirits and devouring others' "link lists". I remember thinking "ok... just one more... I'll look at just ONE more!" (still doing that!)
what a wonderful year of discovery & learning. Like a part time detective I scoured the web to find out to add a stats counter, add a photo show, obtain email subscribers, connect my flickr account, add a gadget and spell check my posts. still learning here too.... things change so quick. have yet to tinker with twitter... and I'm just starting my bloglovin.com page. (thank you elaine for suggesting that - great tool!)
Now, I read at least 50 blogs a week - and my favorites list is always growing! I'm learning something new everyday - such a great thing. sometimes that "thing" is a new craft tip, a new shopping source, a new cause to acknowledge and donate to, a new product, a new business developement (did everyone eles know that Shabby Chic went bankrupt?) a new place to travel to or a new chicken dish to cook for dinner! they are better than the news and newspapers, and have filled the growing void of my beloved "paper" magazines (cottage living, country home, dominio, etc...etc...) tell me... how else can you tap into such current and personally relevant (and personally solicited!) information?? you can't. blogs are the best!
In my first post I said I hoped to share business tips and family chaos to the best new recipes and lipstix - I think I've done that... and learned SO much more. I am in complete awe of the women that contribute their daily details via blog - spiritual, creative, nutritional, entrepreneurial, adventurous, decorative... THANK YOU!! I'm looking forward to a new year of blog learning and loving!
